The Heart’s Crossing

We fell from the sky in dreams that died, we were pulled into the storm that broke us into desert. The only life we saw, was when we reached the wilderness by dusk, when the the fear of the unknown took us away. Carving our failures into stone, we never felt like we were ever enough. A million lies that tried to sweep us away, how many trials, and failures can we take?

Runaways running in the night, but the night was able to take you far away from home. You ran away for freedom but only locked yourself in a cage, built on lies set to take away years, filling the cracks with time spent in vain. Sometimes we had the key from the start, but you ran away from home far away from your heart.

Trying to escape, trying to seek exhilaration, but every bottle she drank locked her back in that cage, every piercing word she spoke pushed her further into believing a false cloud of hope, every scar she took never lead her to healing. Yeah, we’re all dreamers, some of us just lock them up in our sleep, behind the retired red curtains. But they never leave, we can regain a vision, we can surface the light backstage.

Rise up ‘cause there’s a lot to leave, but your heart isn’t one of them, your heart’s shepherd created the key, a key you held this whole time. No need to run back in here, not with the beauty, and wondrous sights that’s in front of you. So let’s keep dreaming to keep us living. A life without vision will leave us is in a prison of destruction, anger, fear, anxiety, and depression. But life with a Savior shall set us upon glorious mountain tops, to starry skies, to red sunsets, to fields full of flowers, a forest full of life, peace, joy, love, hope, purpose, satisfaction, grace, a road of beautiful promises.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23
