A Road to You

Believing, words easier said than acted out. Life, such a precious gift that could be taken away at any moment. When the sand gets to the bottom of the hourglass, at the end of this unknown story. Can one say it was written out to its Creator? Can one say they did more than just claiming to believe? Did I fear the Lord, or only push Him to the side. Did I ask for His instruction, or did I try to write out my own manual led without direction. A life lived on the fence, far too close to the verge of despair.

A world full of dreams, stuck in black and white. Skies too cloudy to witness the moon, and stars that hang across the night sky bringing us light to make our footsteps visible. Are my prayers filled with more of thank you notes, or more of a wishlist of things I want out of this unsatisfying world? A loving God calling out my name, but I’m Continue reading “A Road to You”

Unfolding Story

Remember the things we once wanted, these different things we’d ask for over the years? These gifts we’d look forward to, only fading over time. As some gifts weren’t meant to last forever, the temporary enjoyable moments scattered across the years. We realized the best gifts in life weren’t the gifts we got, but the givers who gave them. These presents may stick with us, but our time is limited to those who we love, the loved ones that hold a special place in our life storybook.

Over the years, we remember, we realize that the greatest gift Continue reading “Unfolding Story”

Beyond the Path

Pretend I’m something that I’m not, the many masks I wear everyday as I try to please a world that could never be satisfied. Losing who I once was, trying to find the answers to my very own definition in life. The weight is too much to bear on my own, these heavy hearts stuck on the ground. How can one lose something they never even found? So when do I give up chasing what I never found?

Don’t carry this with you, a child can’t raise himself right on his own, just as a man can’t take this walk in life without his Father’s guidance. Without instruction, how can I take the steps? Without a lantern, Continue reading “Beyond the Path”

The Train That Moves On

Looking back at the years, I rewind to the past again. When joy covered sorrow, and the light shined so bright. When December was full of such goodness, and happy faces. As I step onto this train, it moves fast, too fast for me to watch what goes by along the way. Can’t this train slow down in speed, or do I have the wrong ticket? The happy faces, the laughter shared, the beautiful lights shining bright, the hearts touched that were moved by God, how I want to see them again.

As the next stop, wondering if I should get off and wait for the next train… stepping off, things we enjoyed and loved to see in life, got away by the speed of the train moving too fast. Slow down, time won’t Continue reading “The Train That Moves On”

Tell Her (This Love to Live)

Tell her she is beautiful, tell her that she is loved, tell her all that you care. Don’t waste your time in the now, don’t wait for tomorrow to come. Tell her that she is wonderful, tell her she’s special. Hold on, and don’t give up, remember the promises you made. The words you spoke, the love that you shared. Remember the stories told along the way, the memories kept in your hearts. Such beautiful words lived in this unforgettable story.

Tell her she is cherished, tell her she’s a light in your eyes. Serve her well, stay forever faithful. For better or worse, hold on to the promises made, and let Christ be your guide. Pray for her, even if you haven’t met her yet, pray for her as the years go by, don’t let the flame die down. Commit to Christ, for your relationship with Jesus is the perfect training you’ll ever have in life. A commitment with Christ is so vital before you truly commit to your wife.

Don’t tear apart her world, but help her build it up. Don’t put her down, when she’s feeling down raise her back up. Let her run to God, and when she stumbles along the way be there to help her back up; on this weary road in life that we must take. Let God’s love fill your heart, so that you may pour it out to her when she needs it most. Encourage her, plant her flowers, and flowers in this garden of love, and hope, planted over the years. Don’t let hurt or doubt try to tear a one into two, keep Christ as the compass forever and always. In these decisions remember to pray, keep the candle burning for Him in all that you do. So life may be more dreams that were lived, rather than regrets that were made. Don’t only tell her, but live the love, as actions speak louder than words.

Don’t forget the reason your story is in the works, don’t ignore the ultimate sacrifice made for you. Life is a beautiful wonderful gift, not just an entitlement, not just flipping a coin. Listen to your callings, wait for the answers. Life doesn’t come all at once, so take each step patiently directed by God. Nothing could be better than the perfect plans God wrote out just for you.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.”

Ephesians 5:25-29

Hidden Light

Here we are, as the sun sets to its most beautiful colors. As you draw closer to the darkness, don’t forget this beautiful sight you’ve seen. Saved by grace, not by deeds, here’s where you plant your seed.

So how is it so easy for the darkness to cover your life, to keep you in chains when you’ve already been set free? Slowly trying to erase the love that you once knew, you once had. This temporary flame that was lit, now barely burning, almost gone out cold.

This desert you were once brought out of, how did you end up back here? Hoping that time can mend what you’ve broken.

How did you get so lost? How did this love you had for the Lord slip away? These questions that try to hide, as doubt and uncertainty try to cover up your life. Wondering where our faith went, this great act of love shown to the world. The creator of the universe, sending His only Son to die. Bringing hope to the world, so that our sins may be washed away. Such a sacrifice, how is it so easy for us to forget this and turn away?

Don’t forget this unimaginable light you hold inside, despite the dark walk taken along the way in this walk of life. You are a child of God, with dreams beyond believing. So take your eyes off the storm, for God is bigger than the storm you’ve stumbled into. You are loved, never forget that. You carry this love, never keep it to yourself. I pray you will find His light in this narrow road ahead. So don’t give up, don’t lose hope, this life wasn’t supposed to easy, it certainly wasn’t for Him.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light”

Ephesians 5:8

Road for Tomorrow

Show me who I am, and who I should be, give me clarity through this obscurity I must walk through. As you search for this silver lining, I pray God will keep you strong in this storm, through these mountains in life you face, may God’s love be what you continue to embrace. As you’ll trace these footprints God laid out for you to follow, to keep you on this narrow road safe from the instability of the wilderness.

God knows we’ve all made mistakes, God knows what you’ve been through. Somehow I’ve fallen away from the direction He gave me, but I must remember the promises and plans He has for me.

Remember through these times you face, ‘God isn’t done with me yet’. When the waves come, when the wind turns fierce, when the stars can’t be seen, when this battle takes you down, trust in Christ. Trust in Him to steer the ship, to calm the waves in this anxious sea, to provide a map of stars to be seen bringing hope, trust in Him to raise you back up.

Though these times are hard, He will carry you. If we believe God exists, let us truly put faith into those words that we believe. He hasn’t left you, He hasn’t forgotten about you, He hasn’t given up on you. He is here for you, He has your future, and time in His hands. He can finish the scattered pieces to this puzzle, He can mend this brokenness and uncertainty you were left with. So let prayer be your compass in all that you walk through.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33
